Snow Makes An Early Appearance

Snow Makes An Early Appearance

By Scott Sistek

SOUTHWESTERN WASHINGTON - It seems strange, but here we are barely into November and snow blanketed parts of Western Washington. About 1.5 inches was on the ground in Olympia Sunday morning, and that was pretty typical of other south Sound reports. We did get an unofficial report of 5" in Yelm and 3" in Spanaway.

But the show is pretty much over. Most of the snow had changed over to rain as of Sunday morning and what straggling snow showers were left were expected to change to rain by noon, washing away what fell. For everyone else, just light rain showers at times this morning that will taper off toward afternoon. Highs around the area are expected to reach the mid 40s.

We'll be keeping a close eye on this all weekend and will keep our Web site constantly updated. Check the KOMO Weather Center for the latest forecast.

And as you can imagine, the Cascades are getting a good dusting of the white stuff. Check the latest pass reports for driving conditions.
